is it worth to buy r2 dvd with those extras?

i noticed there's an interview w/Tsui Hark: is it really informative?
i'd like to know what he intended in fact with this film - it's quite below his standard (though i like it as a sort of guilty pleasure fun movie)

hi. there's no interview with Tsui Hark on the R2 DVD. well, there isn't on the Hong Kong Legends UK version anyway. there are interviews with Yuen Wah, Crystal Kwok and John Kreng.
to be honest, though i liked the film more than when i watched it back in the mid 90's, i don't think its a worthwhile purchase. the only other extras are a trailer gallery (wow!) and the audio commentary by Bey Logan. and that's it!
hope this helps

how come
Please be honest with me, did you buy this dvd? because what i read on the sites (like sendit.com) there's mentioned an interview with T.Hark

reply

There is no interview with Tsui Hark on the disc and it's worth buying if you wanna see a pre-OUTIC Jet Li in what is a very rough and ready film, I bought so it can fill out my rather lack luster Jet Li collection.

It is also worth noting that, unlike the video versions that came out in the 1990s, the UK R2 DVD is uncut. The previous UK video versions lost parts of a fight where Jet Li's adversaries were using weapons that were not allowed to be seen in use in UK releases at the time (in this case, knuckle-dusters, a nunchaku and a balisong knife).

Get it, it's a fun film. Definitely a case of the commentary being better than the actual film though.
