Bad for Bad's Sake
You know, I enjoy the campiness of a bad movie as much as the next guy. But, I only enjoy it when the filmmaker thought he was making a good movie and then failed. I really don't like a bad movie when the filmmaker purposely set out to make a bad movie in hopes that it would become a cult classic. That's what this movie felt like.
And yes, I realize that the movie within a movie was supposed to be a bad movie. But, when you take a step back, the inside movie was pretty much the whole movie. It just happened to be framed as "Here's a reason to show you an entire bad movie that we purposely created to be bad."
On some level I liked it, but I just couldn't give it a good rating.
