... and still no release! What's the matter with you people? What do you have to hide? If Fantastic Four (1994) can get a bootleg release and gain a cult following, this sure as hell could get a release too!

Well, there are bootleg DVD releases of this in circulation. I own one, presumably sourced from the original VHS, and it's of adequately watchable quality. Keep your eyes open on ebay and iOffer, where copies still keep popping up occasionally.
I do agree that a proper DVD release is long overdue, although the outrageous gore and monster effects are pretty much the only enjoyable elements of the movie.

UPDATE: I forgot to add that this does look a bit questionable, but still.
I have the Desert island version, it's ok. The picture isn't too great a quality. The VHS bootlegs are probably as good if not a little better. Wouldn't know for sure though since I've never seen one. I have a 3rd generation VHS I got from one of the guys I worked with on it that's ok; framing is a bit off since there are a couple of boom mics floating in here and there.
