This film kicks so much ass!

Man, I'm surprised this movie isn't talked about more in action film circles because it's kicks ass for an action thriller. There are so many good things about this film that could have made it a cult classic. First of all, it's really brutal. Yes the subject matter is dark but the ways in which Bronson deals out justice are truly inspired. When he makes the pimp eat his watch and later thows him in jail to get gang-raped, his interrogation methods are really sadistic yet are in-your-face in his dealing with criminals. In addition, the scenery and photography are top-notch and director J. Lee Thompson puts in some of his best work with the artful staging and lighting. Plus this is Big Chucks best film of the 80's and he's still kickin in his late 60's here, showing that age could hardly slow you down if you don't let it. Too bad this film got totally overlooked when it was released since it offers the goods action fans want in spades and has some real drama and topical issues to give it some real dramatic weight.

Totally agreed with the OP!

Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

This has one of the best endings of any Bronson flick! What a superb example of poetic-justice; much more gratifying then if the pimp had been killed!

Spoiler: The pimp lives.
