In-Universe HD footage of Daniel's disgraceful showing.

Imagine someone recording the Daniel vs Barnes match with a 35mm film camera and it somehow leaking to social media. Specifically the parts where Daniel is begging Miyagi to stop the match. Such footage would have been possible at the time, although insanely expensive. However, someone like Terry could afford such an expenditure.

Daniel was lucky social media didn’t exist back in the 80s. He would’ve been cyberbulied back to Newark.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Silver pulled out this trump card in Season 6. We haven’t heard the last of him.

Do you think after the 2nd tournament little kids still approached Daniel to ask for his autograph? “Oh man you’re the guy who only fought once and begged your sensei to stop the fight in a pool of your own urine! Can I have your autograph Sir?”

reply

“Yep that’s me… The price of fame, Mr Miyagi.”

Never understood the crowd’s excitement over Daniel’s win. They’d just watched the supposed defending champion get humiliated and outclassed for three minutes. He was groveling on the floor and begging for mercy before scoring a fluke point in sudden death. It would be like if France were up 6-0, then English fans celebrated a consolation injury time goal.

Imagine a sports reporter interviewing people on the way out. Someone would say, "It was a total sham. I thought the mob left youth sports alone, but apparently they don't. I saw an out of shape clown come out of nowhere and was allowed to fight in the championship round fully rested. I just don't get it. We all saw who the real champion is. This is the biggest sports scandal since the Black Sox. Is this the black belt scandal? The good people of the valley pay good money to see world class karate and this is the show we get? There was better officiating in last night's pro wrestling show. At least those refs have integrity."
