Anyone ever catch this?

Daniel is so afraid during the tournament while Myagi tries to console him. But in the previous movie, he fought and beat a guy in what could have been a death match. This makes no sense

reply

Why? People are more afraid as they get older.

Especially of fighting.

reply

Ok, I accept that. Plot hole averted

reply

Daniel was loaded on sake while facing Chozen and had an inflated sense of confidence. It explains why he was able to absorb such a beating without complaint, unlike the ‘85 All Valley where he was reduced to tears.
Miyagi’s training and wisdom were ultimately useless.

reply

Miyagi’s training and wisdom were ultimately useless.

Yet he beat Johnny and his friends in 84', and then Barnes in 85'. Must mean Quicksilver and Kreeses training (and wisdom) was even more useless by your standards.

reply

He was a groveling mess in the ‘85 final, pleading with Miyagi to take him home. He didn’t belong there.

reply

and then he won.
The End

reply

He was an embarrassment to the sport. His conduct wasn’t befitting of a returning champion. No wonder the kids in the crowd were cheering for Barnes.

Yet at the end they weren't were they? In fact the crowd turned on Cobra Kai overall by jeering Kreese and co and throwing the t-shirts back to them thus rejecting the effort to curry favour with them.

reply

When they came to their senses on the drive home, they would have reflected that Barnes dominated 99% of the match and was, in fact, the superior athlete. They learned that day that the All Valley was a corrupt institution and that good doesn’t always triumph over evil.

reply

Good ultimately triumphed over evil when cobra Kai took back the title two years in a row.

reply

Can't sleep again eh?

reply

When they came to their senses on the drive home, they would have reflected that Barnes dominated 99% of the match and was, in fact, the superior athlete.

They would also have reflected on the fact that Barnes froze instead of getting the point, ultimately failing them.

They learned that day that the All Valley was a corrupt institution and that good doesn’t always triumph over evil.

But in this case it did.

reply

Barnes was used to competing at serious, national level karate tournaments where officials would never allow an impromptu kata routine mid match. Under that Mickey Mouse ref Johnson, the match descended into farce. The kids were smart enough to know who the deserving champion was.

reply

Yawwwnn!
Stop talking nonsense. the kids jeered Barnes at the end and threw back the t-shirts.

reply

They were trying to clean up the mat after Daniel pissed all over it.

You are confused with an off the cuff comment at the Cobra Kai dojo. It certainly didn't happen at the tournament.

reply

How can you be sure? Daniel had a track record of bladder control problems. In a high stress situation like that, it’s only natural he would have run into trouble.

you are basing this off an off the cuff comment, hardly a track record is it?

In a high stress situation like that, it’s only natural he would have run into some problems.

Again, that's just YOUR opinion and has no foundation in fact.

reply

He was clearly urinating while he lay on the floor. That’s why it took him so long to get up. Wouldn’t be surprised if Barnes slipped on a damp spot as he approached him during sudden death, giving Daniel an unlikely and undeserved win.

reply

He was clearly urinating while he lay on the floor.

So why wasn't it cleaned up? If what you suggest is true then the soiled mat would have to be cleaned. You see if you are going to spout your bullshit then at least back it up.

reply

The urine wasn’t cleaned because you weren’t there to clean it up. Don’t tell me youve never cleaned dojo mats before.

reply

I wasn't in the movie, dickhead!

reply

But if you had been there you would have been obligated to clean it up.

reply

We've done this before, you already have my answer on this.
Why are you so stupid?

reply

It seeped into the mat and wasn’t clearly visible. Barnes didn’t see it himself and slipped.
Even if Johnson had spotted it, cleaning it up would have delayed the match further and he was eager to go spend Miyagi’s bribe money at the opium den.

reply

How much was Miyagi bribing Pat Johnson with? It was money that should have gone into fixing the pool at the apartment complex.

reply

That pool deserved more attention. It was the major attraction that tied the complex together. While Miyagi treated his own garden like a sanctuary, even manipulating SS residents into working on HIS home, he sat by idly while the complex decayed. Why couldn’t he incorporate Daniel fixing the pool into his karate training?

Owner should have stuck his hand in his pockets then.

Funny, but ultimately more fantasy on your part.

Why couldn’t he incorporate Daniel fixing the pool into his karate training?

Perhaps he could have filled it with his over active bladder eh?

reply

Do you seriously think residents of the SS apartments would enjoy swimming in a pool of Danny Boy Urine???

reply

If they're SS, then yes.

reply

Well we all know the man who bribes people is Silver, so that is just more bullshit from you.

reply

We beliieve that Silver was giving money to the criminally underpaid ref so he could pay his bills. Why must you always assume the worst in him?

Where he says nobody suspects anything.

Why assume the worst? Well there's this

...and this.

But hey, you carry on looking through those rose tainted glasses, dickhead!

reply

He didn’t want anyone anyone to know that we was giving charity to the ref. He wanted his good deed to be private and not embarrass the ref. Why are you so obtuse?

Why are you so full of bullshit?

Why are you posting at 3.30am?
