I can't believe Terry Silvers is younger then Daniel, he looks almost looks his dad's age in the movie - I thought he was around 40.

Pat Morita (Miyagi) was 57
Martin Kove (Kreese) was 43
Ralph Macchio (Daniel Larusso) was 28
Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver) was 27
Sean Kanan (Mike Barnes) was 23
William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence) was 23
Robyn Lively (Jessica) was 17

first and second movie stars ages at same time

Yuji Okumoto (chozen) was 30
Elizabeth Shue (Ali) was 26
Tamlyn Tomita (Kumiko) was 23

Wow I didn't know that! I guess the ponytail made him look older.

Don't know but its just Thomas Ian Griffiths face looks older and was much taller and bigger in stature to Ralph Macchio and he seemed like he could be Kreeses younger war buddy - not as old as Martin Kove but not really much younger then him in the movie.

Robin Lively was 16 when the movie was made. That was the reason Ralph Macchio asked that the romance between the two characters be taken out of the script. He didn't feel it would be appropriate since she was still a minor and he was more than ten years older than her.

my mistake - Robyn Lively (Jessica) was 17 as her birthday was February 7, 1972 - I misread as 1962 - so she probably was 16 while filming and 17 when it released -but she looks older in the film then her age aswell.

She looked a little older in the movie. Suprised to find that out tbh. Decent enough actress.

That is insane that Terry was younger than Daniel. Terry looks like a man - massive, hairy, bulky, lean, testosterone fuelled and authoritative in his manner. Daniel is a wide-eyed kid and pudgy to boot.

Exactly, between the two of them it is so noticeable on Ralph looking so young and Ian looks so much older in the movie but Ian even when he was younger he looked like a mature man.
