b*tch slap

I never liked that scene. But it was true to the spirit... I also didn't like that the model actually does show her t*ts; but true to the spirit too. And she said she didn't mind. The body is just a vessel for the spirit for her?

lumbaka - It's a difficult scene especially with everything else that has gone on before in the movie. I got the impression that the model, Daniel's friend, felt she had to submit to the misogyny of the modelling profession where sex is often asked for and traded for work, then the objectifying behavior of the commercial producer was just appalling. Daniel was trying to get through to her that she is/was valued as a person, as child of God, and she should not have allowed herself to be treated in that way. There's a bit of the Mary Magdalen allegory here. Jesus of Montreal is a movie that unfolds in a way that at first you think you're watching a comedy or a farce regarding a passion play, yet by the middle of the movie you've been challenged to really think about the basis of your own religious views and beliefs. It's an extraordinary film, imo.
