As ONLY STEIGER Could Have Done

This movie has documented the finest 1:11 of anger management EVER put to celluloid.

From the moment the buzzer goes OFF in the Mayors Office.

Keep your remote control in you hand while watching this scene.

The look on Danny Aiello's face - ( " You've GOT To Be *beep* Kidding Me" ) As he's watching Steiger deliver his scalding lines says it ALL.

It's absolutely "PRICELESS"...

I'd wager more than half of what Steiger delivered to that scene was ad-libbed.

Some may call it "Overacting" in my opinion "It's Brilliant". As ONLY STEIGER could have DONE...

An Award Winning 1:11 ( OOHHH )

I would have loved to have been in THAT ROOM when the director yelled "CUT"...

Came to this board to see if anyone else noticed this ridiculous scenery chewing. I love Rod Steiger, but he took it to the next level -- and then went even further.

"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE TALKING TO? YOUR WIFE? DO YOU WANT TO *beep* ME?"

Probably the only worthwhile thing in this movie.

There came a point in his career when Steiger got a good payday for chewing the scenery.

Its that man again!!

Off topic, but am I the only one who thinks they made Steiger look like Jor-El (Brando) in Superman? What was up with that white wig? LOL

@rudd girl, I know what you mean! I never heard of this movie until I watched it last night. There were so many good actors and yet this was still one big, steaming pile of a movie. It was good for unintentional humor, though!

That wig is a zoning violation!

Steiger is the best. Every time I watch one of his movies if he doesn't go over the top I'm disappointed. By far my favorite is Mr Lovejoy in The Loved One.

Don't mean to bust your agates, because I am a big Steiger fan, too. And I love him in The Loved One. But his character is Mr. JOYBOY. You must have been thinking of Ian "There's a way and there's a *beep* way" Wassisname.
Two great lesser known performances: Waterloo (napoleon) and I'm gonna get you sucker/A fistful of dynamite.
