JACKNIFE,SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN OSCAR NOMINATIONS!

THIS WAS SUCH A GREAT MOVIE.YES IT WAS DEPRESSING,BUT IT WAS SO WELL ACTED,AND SHOWED US SOMETHING DIFFERENT IN THE POST-VET AREA,THAT I THOUGHT THIS FILM SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN SOME OSCAR NOMINATIONS,AND AGAIN THE ACADEMY JUST LOOKED BY THIS.I MEAN DENIRO WAS SO GOOD IN THIS ROLE,AND THE ACADEMY DOESN'T EVEN GIVE HIM A NOMINATION?BUT YET HE GETS ONE FOR CAPE FEAR?NOTHING AGAINS THAT FILM,BUT IT WAS A REMAKE,AND HE PLAYED A CHARACTER THAT HE HAS REPEATEDLY PLAYED OUT ALREADY,A PSYCHO.ALSO ED HARRIS WAS ABSOLUTLEY BRILLIANT IN THIS AS WELL.

I agree. Kathy Baker gave a lovely, understated performance -- easy to overlook with the eventual pyrotechnics from her two male co-stars, no slouches themselves.

Well, when I found it my first thought was: "Robert DeNiro and Ed Harris in a movie that I never heard before." After watching it, I think there's a reason for that...

I totally agree with you,, this is such an underrated little know movie. I bought it because of Deniro and Harris , not even knowing what the story was about,, it was a pleasure to watch, I enjoyed everyone's performance start to finish,, yes it's a very sad movie, but I liked it a lot.

I agree and this movie deserves a higher rating. It's emotional & impressive. Performances are great too; especially Ed Harris.
