Did the butler die?

Because he looked pretty dead to me.
If so, Indiana Jones murdered him with a sucker punch. Seems kinda harsh.

I think he just lost consciousness.

How do you determine the life status of a fictional character in a movie, without it being expressly expressed in the movie itself?

reply

I do not think so....nobody should speak to Indy in this way 😅

reply

Movie logic dictates that people don't die from a punch or kick to the head, or even from being bludgeoned with a blunt instrument, unless someone expressly points it out.

reply

No, just knocked the shit out of him. Ffs it was a Nazi occupied castle they were breaking into.

reply

I sure hope he did, he gave one of the worst lines I have ever heard with that Mickey Mouse joke, and I've seen Batman and Robin and all the cringeworthy dialogue there ("Let's kick some ice", "suit me up Uncle Alfred", "I'm a lover not a fighter, that's why every Poison Ivy action figure comes complete with him", "Bomb, bomb", "rubber lips are immune to your charm", "Hey Freeze, the heat is on")

reply

No, he did not die. There are rumors that he will be the villain in the next Indy film and now that Disney owns the movie rights, he is sure to bring up Mickey Mouse and possibly other Disney characters when he confronts Indy. And its possible a scene will take place in Florida during the time of construction of Disney World

I'm sure you were just being silly but the guy who played the Butler is 88 years old now. Funnily enough he just was in the movie Jesus and the others. I haven't seen it though.

Even a heavyweight boxer would have a hard time killing your average person with one punch. The stories you hear of people dying after being punched or knocked out usually come from the fall rather than the punch itself, and the butler only fell against the wall behind him and was pulled to one side somewhere by Indy.

So yeah, not dead.
