Original Aspect Ratio?
I saw this on DVD but it was in standard screen. I was wondering if it was filmed that way or in widescreen. Anyone know?

Amazon.com has it listed as fullscreen, however I didn't notice this detail until after I got it on DVD from a used bookstore today. Hopefully the original widescreen (assuming it was shot in widescreen) will be released one day.
shareMine is fullscreen, from what I remember at the store they didn't have widescreen. It only cost me 2.99 though, in Canada.

The aspect ratio of the film itself is 1.85:1. So, yeah, the DVD is missing picture information but not nearly as much if the film had been shot in true 2.35:1 widescreen. Warner also did this to "Sharky's Machine" and other films that were shot in 1.85:1, which I, of course, totally disagree with.
shareI think the film was shot in 1.33:1 and was simply "matted" like a picture frame. If that's the case, there's actually more to see in the "full-screen" dvd that is only available out there.
I could be mistaken about this and maybe it is a pan and scanned version, but there wouldn't be much to miss. It's definitely not shot in Cinemascope (2:32.1)
I do prefer to watch letterboxed movies. It's a good movie but the square picture does make movies (even good ones) look like tv shows instead of theatrical releases.
