I'm looking for a DVD of this short film. I don't need subtitles (altought it's not a problem to have them). and i need the dvd to play in brazil, i guess that's region 4.
does anyone know where to find it? i haven't been able to download (or even view it) on the internet.

Well, I don't know if Ilha das Flores has been released on DVD format here, but you can try to watch this wonderful shortfilm (considered one of the best ones ever) at the following link:

Eu vi esse filme pela primeira vez na escola, quando um professor meu nos mostrou vários curtas gauchos. Ele disse que estava mostrando de uma fita com vários curta metragens gauchos e que nós poderíamos alugá-la em algumas locadoras. Espero que ajude.

Could be of help. I just saw a DVD of this title which was provided by the French Consulate. Consulate General De France New Orleans. The film library that this agency has is extensive and thy seem to be willing to share their holdings.
