Questions... your opinion.

I know these are probably just plot holes, but I wanted to get opinions from horror fans who are interested.

On the way to the castle, they hit something and the Count acts suspicious about it when they get to the castle. I'm sure it's just to add to the mystery of the film, but does anyone have anything interesting to attribute this to?

Also, before the first guy dies (the professor, I think) something is chained up in the castle and gets loose. It seems to suggest that the werewolf was chained because of the death soon after, but that doesn't really make sense. Not the mention, the character who is the werewolf is shown soon after in another room. This could lend to a second werewolf theory, but I think it's probably just a plot hole of a B film. Anyone have a cool thoery on this anyway?

This is one of my favorite films in the series (along w/ part 4). Cheesy and full of holes, but the story is great and the score is pretty cool. A classic B horror film.

Well, the movie's funadamentally a mess, so making sense of ANYTHING in it is going to be hard. Nonetheless, I'll try.

1) It's possible what they hit was another werewolf the Count's Order (God, why did they have to complicate the plot with some offscreen werewolfchasers?) knew would be roaming the area. Of course, that would mean the Order knew about the wolf's aggression and could determine exactly how fast the bus would have to travel to hit and kill the thing.

2) Maybe there is another werewolf loose in the castle. The Count refers to the castle as its "lair"--which is interesting considering the only werewolf we know of in the movie is an American. Thus, it's possible the werewolf really housed in the castle knew about passages the onscreen werewolf had no clue about and killed some of the visitors to keep the American werewolf in Budapest (groan) from getting all the action. Afterward, they could have hooked up and made a bunch of werewolf puppies (assuming the putative castle wolf is male) to send forth and conquer the world.

More than likely, it was just sloppy writing though.

Yes, while the writing is bad, I think it is just bad enough for your explainations to fit into the story. Thanks. I'll tell my mom. She wanted to know. We never really opened up the possibility to more than one werewolf. I like it.

I think there was just one.

Spoilers:

I think the count thought there was just one among them, but that another one existed inside the castle descended down from the baby at the beginning of the movie that nobody was aware of. If you notice in the film there is a slender white werewolf who I think is the girl dragging a body and then there was a brown one who kills the professor and later kills Anna and Catherine inside the dungeon. The facial features of the two werewolves look different. Its never resolved at the end of the movie. I wonder if the director/producers entended it to lead to a later sequel in the series.
