I have no idea why I am curious about this, but here it goes....

When Diane and Wayne are sitting on the front porch at night talking, the last thing that Diane says is that she is worried about Amy being in the dark with Little Russ Thompson and that they better behave themselves. Why was she worried about this? I mean Diane knew that Amy was hoping for that other guy to ask her out, and she had never shown any intrest toward Russ before.
