casting tam

im just wondering why the production decided, and continues, to cast an asian child for the role. most of the time, kids who are born to interracial parents (one asian, one caucasian/african-american) usually end up having the features of the non-asian parent, particularly the skin coloring. i have two cousins born to a filipino father and spanish mother, and they completely look caucasian though they're raised in the philippines. kids in the philippines would try their best to speak english to them thinking they're americans. and it's not just them. we have mestizos and mestizas all over the place, especially celebrities.

if i were to do a casting call for that role, i would definitely look for caucasian kids with dark hair, or asian kids with more caucasian features, especially the skin coloring. it's not being racist; it's just being genetically correct.
