Robbery scheme didn't make sense

They wanted Bugsy to think Jenkins was throwing the fight so he would bet his money on the white boxer, and then they would end up robbing Calhoun's booking joints to get all the money.

But if Bugsy did bet his own money(I think it was like $300,000) he wouldn't bet it at his own booking joints, he would bet it with someone elses. So the money Bugsy bet would not be with the money they stole.

I think it still went to Bugsy's booking joints. I'm a little rusty, but I believed they said that aside from Sugar's place, Bugsy ran every other book in town. Plus it's illegal gambling so there's no state commission against him placing bets in his own booking house. lol.

But why would he bet money with his own booking joints? Is he going to pay himself when he wins? It would make no sense for him to bet money at his own booking houses.

You have to understand how the betting game works. Every person betting would make the bet and the ones who bet on the winner take the pot. But regardless, they stole the money he was putting into the bets.

To make more money. If the odds are high. He bets his money and takes more from the losers than just the vig.
