I have the same question op. This movie is playing on tv as I type this and it is so funny! It really draws you in. The fight scene between Eddie Murphy and Della Reese alone is one of the funniest scenes ever. I listened to some of the clip mentioned by the previous poster and I still don't agree with the criticism. So what if as some claim the movie didn't utilize enough comedy from the comedians. I don't think this movie's having a plot that isn't comedy-focused sacrifices the quality of the film. I get that it maybe didn't meet the expectations of those who were expecting something else, I am honestly surprised at a lot of the criticism.
