i agree, it's a great movie and i love it.. i've been a fan of it since i was 9 year's old when i bought the vhs at a garage sale(and i still have the vhs itself today and still works surprisingly) i really wish though they would get it out on dvd, they have all these other movie's from the 80's on dvd even some really really bad ones, and this one is the best so i don't know why it's not out on dvd, patrick dempsey is a big star now so you figured they would put it out on dvd.. so please get it out on dvd.. because i don't own a vhs player anymore and wanna watch it again LOL

I also have it on vhs, but i recently copied it on dvd. It came out really well and it saves the vhs from getting overused. It is a shame that they bring out so many crappy movies on dvd but not a great one like this.

I know right? i've seen ALOT of bad movies from the 80's that make it on dvd and it's so strange that they won't put this movie out on dvd, i mean Patrick Dempsey is a well known actor now and you figured they would throw this movie on dvd like all the other ones. :(

also how did you copied your vhs version onto dvd? i'd love to be able to get the vhs version of happy together that i own on vhs to dvd so i can watch it again! :D

You would need a working VHS player and a Digital video recorder to make the transfer. You can also get a VHS/DVR combination player and save the set up time. Hope that helps

It's all about suspending disbelief for 2 hours more or less.

I caught part of this movie once loooong ago (think it was playing on TV) and I have been chasing it ever since. WHY so elusive, I wonder?
Ideally, I'd like them to offer it to stream on Netflix Instants but coming out on DVD would also be great

I don't think I've seen this, but Loverboy was on today. Very surprised they would not put out at least a barebones DVD to capitalize on Dempsey's fame post Grey's. Not sure how brief Brad Pitt's part is, but they could probably throw something on the box about one of his first roles. Also, if that Dan Schneider is the one that now has multiple shows on Nickelodeon they could use that, too.

It could have a "title name" problem...

A quick IMDB check shows a foreign film (not Hollywood) and a Veggie Tales share the same name HAPPY TOGETHER, and the foreign film is out on DVD and Blu-Ray.

I have also seen this film compared to the Liza Minnelli/Wendell Burton 1969 movie, THE STERILE CUCKOO, and it did pretty well at the box office. It is far from the same plot, but similar in the general sense.

This was released on VHS and laserdisc, with VHS copies available sometimes, but I have only seen the laserdisc once.
