Presumably Michael was booked into the jail.

That being the case, why didn’t Meeker have one of the deputies remove the mask?

I wonder the same thing every time I watch this film.

He probably would've had his tantrum again remember when he removed his mask n Jamie reached to wipe away his tear he reacted violently

reply

How would the cops know that?

Even if that were the case, Michael was shackled in a room full of sheriff deputies armed with guns. I'm pretty sure they would have just opened fire if Michael went berserk with his mask removed.

(When Michael had his mask removed in the first Halloween, he didn't fly into a rage.)

Ask the director why then

After the first film, one of Akkad's rules moving forward was that you never see him unmasked. Not full on. Shadows, yes, distance, yes, but in a closeup like that? No. Unmasking "ruins the mystique". Makes him human. He's not. So the reason to keep the mask on was simple, it's what everybody knows.

I completely understand that, but I was asking for a logical in-movie reason. I'm sorry. I should have made that clear.

There was no reason, movie wise. You have to suspend disbelief on that one. Seeing an unmasked Michael would've bothered me more.

Eh. I think five movies in it wouldn't have been so bad to see Michael without the mask. I'm not one of those who think Michael should effectively be completely faceless--especially since John Carpenter gave him a face in the first movie.

They should have done away with that scene.

It's just too silly.

reply

They could could have filmed it so you see Michael from behind w/o the mask. It makes no sense why he would still have it on.
