I really love this movie.

I admit it. This is one of my favourite movies. I really don't know why. I'm not in med school but I am a university student and can relate to it. I LOVE Zuniga and Modine together. They have such great chemistry! I'm a sucker for this movie. I know it's not like some award winning film or anything, but I like the simplicity of it. I also love the love story in this movie. Great movie.

I really liked this movie also. Matthew Modine is one of my favorites as is Zuniga.

Im with you as well. Modine was great in this! Its inspiring that wise asses can actually make it in this PC world of ours- even if its only in the movies :)

I agree with everyone else. I just found this movie recently and I think it's great! I'm not sure why, but I really love it also.

I did, too. I was pre-med in school when it came out. I changed over to business my senior year, but I could really relate to the pressure and the labs and struggling to mix in a social outlet or two.

The characters in this story were very good.

Along the same lines, I really liked "With Honors" as well.

Just discovered it and i must agree with all of you.Never saw it when it came out and wonder if it was a hit ?If not why not?

reply

Yea, I just watched it tonight, and got choked up in a few scenes. Daphne Zuniga is such a beautiful woman, like when she was in 'A Sure Thing'.

It makes me nostalgic because I was an undergraduate at USC and saw it being filmed every day.The campus has changed so much since then. Daphne Zuniga was beautiful inside and out.

An outstanding movie indeed; vastly underrated. Of course Matthew Modine was excellent, and Daphne Zuniga was great, as well as being heartbreakingly fetching. Zakes Mokae had the ring of authenticity in bringing the role of Dr. Banumbra to life. Christine Lahti turned in a masterful and memorable characterization. This is the movie I always remember her for. It was a great story, and she made it better than anyone else could have.
