Best Movie Ever?

I am currently watching this movie with 5 other drunk people at 4:30 am.. now were only about 15 minutes in, but I can already see that this film was a true work of art.

Sure, De Palma, Francis Ford, and those lesser directors may have achieved commercial and critical sucess.. but after seeing Peter Radar's chilling vision of 80's ambiguously not-so-small-town-but-not-so-big-city life, I am sure that all those hacks were merely flukes.

My career as a filmgoer has peaked, and that peak was Grandmother's House.

I know that I am not suffering from Armageddon syndrome, as I just caught 2 viewings of, what I had previously considered the finest story ever comitted to film, Jaws: The Revenge.

Like, this movie get's all up in me like I can't explain.. I just realized that I own some of the clothes used in the movie. I'm gonna track down the stars of this opus and have them sign my blue shirt, then sell it on EBAY for millions.

Thank you Peter, for giving my life meaning.

I suggest that you all take a visit... to grandmother's house.

oh the part where there on one side of the moving train and there crazy mom is on the other is amazing... yes they are still standing there till the train ends only to find that yes, your crazy mom who is trying to kill you is well... still trying to kill you.

and oh the part where their crazy mom gets a truck and proceeds to chase them through an orcherd. no they don't bother running to the left or running to the right to get out of the way of their crazy mother, they just run straight.

and why is it called grandma's house when it's their mother who's trying to kill them.......sigh

i saw this movie on acid and it was the funniest damned thing i ever seen!

One of weirdest horror movies I've ever seen. Brinke Stevens' performance is really creepy.

SPOILER ALERT:

I think it's called 'grandma's house' because the killer mom who's trying to kill her children (one of whom happens to be the spawn of her OWN father) is ALSO her son's grandmother (isn't incest great?). And since it used to be her house, it's appropriately called grandma's house. I think to emphasize this point, they released the 2003 version with the title "Grandmother's House" which they maybe thought sounded more obvious.

reply

naw, that would just make her his mother.. even if she was raped by his grandfather.
Bigger question is who was the kids supposesed father that was a "Marine" who died in the beginning of the movie! LOL

"and oh the part where their crazy mom gets a truck and proceeds to chase them through an orcherd. no they don't bother running to the left or running to the right to get out of the way of their crazy mother, they just run straight. "

You can make this same exact complaint for every other movie made that has people being chased by vehicles.

"and why is it called grandma's house when it's their mother who's trying to kill them.......sigh "

Because they're staying at their grandmother's house(technically grandparent's), not to mention the fact that at first you are not supposed to know right off that it's the mother, so obviously they wouldn't give it away in the title of the film.

I collect dead pigeons then I press them between the pages of a book.

I was always confused with the ending. David kills his grandfather, after discovering that he is in fact his father. As he is killing him he screams and screams in a maniac style - are we supposed to believe that he too is now crazy, (as his mother was)?

And the other part that was very strange to me, the police man explains to David and Lynn that "the woman" is their mother and that she escaped from a mental institution and that he suspected she might come out to the farmhouse. Then later on, when the police find David and Lynn and Lynns boyfriend has been shot - the police woman in the hospital said "have you been fighting with someone" after David says "Did they find her". So it was as if the police did not have a clue what he was talking about - even thought the other policeman told them their mother had escaped and was on the loose AND that she was their mother. Surely all the police would know about the crazy escaped mad woman not just this one police man!!!

What exactly does the MPAA have to do with this movie? Other than giving it a rating.
And why are they wackos?? I think you're a little confused my friend.

I thought this film was quite enjoyable. Brinke Stevens was real intense and frightening as the crazy mother.

Really?
No more drinking for you. Drunk posting on imdb is always a bad idea. You'll regret it tomorrow when you read what you wrote. Wait, were you also drunk when you saw Jaws the Revenge?
