Metaphor for homosexuality?

okay so I loved this movie as a kid. Last night, a friend and I decided to watch it after not seeing it since we were kids like 15 years ago. First of all, we were asking ourselves what the hell "Gleaming the Cube" means. It almost sounded like a gay sex act, and we kind of laughed about that. Then we watched the movie and that's when we noticed some things.

Christian Slater's character seems to have very little interest in the asian girl who seems to be liking him more and more as the movie goes on. I noticed a scene where she rests her head on his shoulder and says "I really like you" or something to that effect. He didn't say anything at all in response. Then after the big fight scene at the end, there is no mention of that girl again, and Christian Slater rides off in a jeep with that detective who was flicking his ear the entire time. Was that flirting?

I like how you commented on what I said about the title, the part of my post that was a joke. You say I need to gain a few brain cells?

Satan: Saddam, I thought you were dead.
Saddam: Where was I gonna go, Detroit?

You should try flicking one of your guy friend's ears. I'll give you 20 bucks if he DOESN'T think it's gay.

He didn't show a romantic interest in the Vietnamese girl because his brother had just died and it was his brother's girlfriend. I personally didn't want him to get together with her. I liked their relationship as a friendship (which was partly based on that they could understand each other's loss of Vin).

And no, the ear flicking thing was definitely not firting. I think Lucero viewed Brian as almost a little brother type of figure. I used to do the exact same thing to my little brother. Certainly didn't mean I was flirting with him.

I think you and your boyfriend are hoping that it is a metaphor for homosexuality.
