The Vigo Painting Q.

Anyone know what happened to the actual painting? Was it bought or destroyed? Thanks.

The 2009 Video Game serves as a third movie to the series. In it, Vigo's painting is preserved in the Firehouse and a much less powerful Vigo is still trapped in the painting. It is likely the Ghostbusters will put him away in storage, once they figure out a way to do that. He has quite a few lines if you attempt to speak to him.

Supposedly, a good deal of content was cut out the game due to time constraints/ limited technology including a level where Vigo may have attempted to escape the painting again. This is all speculation, but much of the game is a tribute to the first movie while most of the tributes to the second movie were severely limited, incomplete or turned into multiplayer content.

He's even voiced by Max Von Sydow! It is quite a nice cameo.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about the painting in the movie. According to this site it wasn't actually a painting but a giant photograph. And the original photograph, according to the guy who came up with the original design for Vigo, hangs in ILM offices, Police’s smaller painting is in Ivan Reitman’s home, and the rest is in the hands of collectors.
