No DVD

I just remembered how much I enjoyed this film when I first saw it on the screen. Too bad it hasn't been released on DVD.

You mean it hasn't been released on DVD in the USA.

reply

All right, I'll bite: where has the dvd been released and how does one get it?

reply

To the best of my knowledge- nowhere. I wrote MGM when they had the rights. Now that MGM is no more, I wonder who has the rights. Though it was released on picture disc, those old 12 inch digital disks, so it has a digital master available already, somewhere.

MGM sold all its old titles to Sony a while ago---they've been the ones releasing all those old titles over the last couple of years---you can walk into any Dwayne Reed drug store and find a whole slew of MGM titles (its almost always MGM or Disney/Touchstone titles occasionaly there's a Paramount title there) staring at you from the dvd racks--usually priced at 9.99 if you look around you can prob find em for cheaper---anyways SONY owns the rights....why else would titles like SFW or Miami Blues suddenly start appearing on DVD when by all means MGM's been bankrupt for the last couple years or so. (occasioanly making a comeback with Barbershop or of course the BOND films)

Don't know if you're still among the living, because you haven't posted in years, but your wait for the dvd is over. It releases next week.
