In the original film Peter references the fact that Peter Vincent isn't even his real name. Is it ever revealed what his actual name is/was?

No, his real name is never given. The name Peter Vincent is an homage to Vincent Price and Peter Cushing.

That I did not know. I wonder if they will give him a real name in the remake?

If anyone still wants to know, the 1985 novelization of Fright Night gives his name as Herbert Mchoulihee, or something similar.
