Guess what I found at a pawn shop, for a dollar...

So, I'm at a small thrift store/pawn shop, and I decide to check out the VHS. I like to buy a few because of the classic covers. Well, I'm about to walk away with Robocop when I see it; Fright Night II. I couldn't believe it. I already owned a copy, one I'd bought online years ago, but I'm always happy to have another. I pull it out, and printed on the cover in some sort of goldish material it says "Promotional Copy Only: Not For Sale". So, not only is it Fright Night II, but it's a promo copy, one that was never released to the public. It wasn't just written on the box either, it's physically printed on it, so it was definitely not made for public consumption. Pretty sweet deal.

Have you noticed any differences? Is it a work print?

I've only watched the first 10 minutes. So far, the only difference I've seen is an add at the beginning trying to sell me Christmas videos for $14.99. Then at the beginning of the film while the recap is playing it says at the bottom "PREVIEW VIDEO ONLY. NOT FOR PUBLIC".

I had this on DVD and I guess it's out of print and I sold it on ebay for around $80. I found a Blu ray copy and bought it for 60 because I know it's rare but it never actually came out and is just a promotional copy but its wide screen and surround sound so I guess I'll take what I can get. At least they're coming out with another round of the first one on Blu ray again in January.

$80!?? There are a lot of Oops dvds so why is this one special? I ask because I own one.

Great find! I have a promotional copy of Night of the Demons 2 on VHS, which likewise wasn't mean to be released to the public.
