He's a great character in this movie (Jonathan Gries is also rad as the wolfman in Monster Squad) but they def. portray him as a werewolf in the movie but there are a couple scenes that make you wonder. Your thoughts?

He's a vamp. In the bowling alley scene, he's in vamp mode. I think he just prefers the wolf persona. He looked like a wolf in the human form, so why not?

The roses Alex shoved into his maw, which hurt him, was something she picked up from reading Dracula -- and Dracula was a vampire, not a werewolf. Also, when Louis tries to get into Alex' pants, the bug-eating vampire tells him "you're supposed to bite her on the neck," to which Louis replies "I'm not thirsty."
