Synchronized Swimmers....

the scene when the rats ate them was *beep* hilarious!

Ok. I don't remember that scene...I'll have to rent this again. It has been awhile.

I was an extra in the indoor pool scene. They took forever just to film the synchronized swimming scene with the giant rats. Filming took place in Etobicoke, Ontario (suburb of Toronto) and started at around 10pm and went until about 6am.

Those giant rats looked like giant stuffed squirrels when you see them in person. Just the top part of them...the bottom half of their body (not seen on camera of course) were controlled by each person holding onto the "rat", making it thrust toward the camera. We were all laughing when we saw these. :)

By the end of the night many of us had bruises and sore knees from jumping over railings, running into each other in creating the chaos in the stands.

I couldn't help laughing when that civilian gets a hold of the cop gun that falls to the ground and shoots in cold blood some 4/5 terrified other civilians who were trying to escape. A subtle hidden ode to sociopathy, maybe?

The sequence with the giant rats attacking and killing the synchronized swimmers was absolute gut-busting kitschy gold.
