Screenplay on High School Play Level

Except for the scenes with Paul Newman, who shows that Marlon Brando wasn't the only one who pissed away his promise (Newman could have been a great actor rather than a movie star who gave some terrific performances; he is excellent here), the rest of the script is at the level of one of those Samuel French plays that high school students put on.
