Adam is a PRICK

I'm probably not going to get a reply for this in a long time, but I don't care, I just need to let off steam.

I thought he was the biggest *beep* in the world to his father. He uses the arugment that growing up he never experianced "fun" with his father, a thing that Jesse gave to him. Well, okay, but that doesn't mean robbing is freaking right. Vito saw that and knew a life in prison wasn't good for him and he wouldn't survive, and that's evident by the scene where they're discussing the guns and Adam is taken back.

It's really sad that Jesse's last words concerning Vito was that he was a lost cause too.

I felt so sorry for Dustin...when he stood outside the shop in the end waiting for Adam and his voice was trembling, god, didn't anyone else notice this???
Brilliant acting...

After watching this film last night, my sentiments exactly!

Adam is a selfish, naive, spoiled brat. How long would he have lasted in prison without getting what Jessie boasted about never getting up the ass!?! Jessie knew full well that his grandson wouldn't be able to cope in jail, yet still was happy to put him at risk of being sent there. Vito gave his son all the breaks he didn't get off his own irresponsible father, and yet had it all thrown back in his face. And all because Adam felt that his comfortable, middle-class lifestyle wasn't enough 'fun'.

Amazing how people like Jessie always think everyone else is a 'lost cause'. It's like some kind of Freudian defense mechanism.

LMFAO

Adam also said that Jessie respected Vito as a kid, yet when they are getting the plasma's and Adam is walking aimsley (Can't spell) around for them JESSIE is the one who ROLLS his eyes and goes something like, "Does he even know what he's doing?" And VITO is the one who goes, "He knows what he's doing..."

You don't call that faith, trust, and respect for your son? Adam thought he saw love from Jessie when really it wasn't. Sorry, god, this liberal movie pisses me off....XD
But I love it JUST for Vito...

Of course the OP is correct, Vito wanted the best for his son but he fell for his grandfather's tales. The film flopped as it was a moral muddle.

Its that man again!!

Adam was a selfish jerk, because Vito was too tough, and Jesse was fun, after that I wanted to slap him too. And Jesse calling Vito a lost cause, because he did an unselfish thing for Adam, I think Jesse and Adam are the lost causes.

It's a shame that Dustin Hoffman coming off the hit film Rain Man, to star in this unwatchable mess.

The film was indeed a mess.

Adam is indeed a prick, but Matthew Broderick is so cute here he makes my teeth hurt.

Non-sequiturs are delicious.

While I enjoyed the film for a one night Netflix rental I agree with everyone else here that Adam was a serious a--hole, and not even a charming, charismatic a--hole like his grandpa. Would have served him right if he'd been left to rot in prison for the next 15-20 some years.
