Casting: Dustin Hoffman

I really admire Dustin Hoffman. HOWEVER, he's way too close in age to play Sean Connery's son, and way too Jewish to play a gentile. The passover scene in the beginning is almost laughable as the very Jewish Hoffman is trying to play gentile. He looked like he belonged there more than anyone else. And he and Connery are too close in age to be father son.

Hoffman is supposed to be in his early 40s in the film which I found amusing but you know, he does not look that Jewish to me!

Its that man again!!

I agree. Some Jewish guys can pull off the Italian role such a James Cann but Dustin just looks Jewish I do not mean that in a bad way. Some guys have that look like, what is he Italian Jewish you can't put your infer on it but notDustin Hoffman.

With that said I still think it is worth while casting because he really pulls off the role and has grea chemistry with both Connery and Matthew B.

Hmmm...Luther Adler, Edward G. Robinson, Tony Curtis, John Garfield, Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. See what I' getting at?

"May I bone your kipper, Mademoiselle?"

Not only what you said is true but there is an 8¾ inch height difference between the two actors. How often does a 6'2½" father have a 5'5¾" son?
