It's eggnog, everyone. It's Christmas eve and he's adding Bourbon (which is chestnut colored) to his eggnog.

[insert something witty and philosophical here]

So what's the go with eggnog? I see it all the time on American shows but never even heard of here in Oz...are kids legally allowed to drink alcohol for Chrissie day or something?

I had a fish named Sam he lived in a bowl........

Saw this film for the first time today. I thought it was a white Russian, too, and completely thought of The Dude, knowing TBL came well after. If it is egg nog, like another suggested, we use Southern Comfort and a dash of nutmeg at the holidays.

- a²r - Never had one lesson.

comforting.

A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.

reply

Eggnog does not contain alcohol. He served it to the kid as it came out of the carton, and added booze to his own.

reply

dingo, do you have egg nogg in oz?

just curious.

Once there was a Hushpuppy, and she lived with her Daddy in the bathtub.

Nope, not that I'm aware of. Never seen it for sale in any shop. But I'm sure it wont be long the way our youth today has no regard for any of their home history or traditions...just hell bent on americanisation.

It was not eggnog. It was simply milk and vodka. So yes it was a White Russian and of course in TBL he adds a touch of Kahlua.

EDIT: I am correcting my own post after viewing that scene again and pausing it, the milk carton is in fact eggnog.

Ooooh, you wicked, wicked monkey! Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire
