As when I first saw Jabberwocky in the early 80s (despite being a Monty Python fan since sometime in the later 70s, I didn't know about Jabberwocky until the early 80s--it wasn't exactly well-publicized in my neck of the woods) I had memories of not really enjoying Erik the Viking in 1989. I rewatched Jabberwocky maybe five years ago and really enjoyed it--it seemed to me that I didn't quite get it on my first viewing (as depressing as it is to realize that I might have been that much dumber in my mid-20s), and now the exact same thing has happened to me with Erik the Viking.

I should give The Missionary a rewatch now. Maybe the same thing will happen with that, too.
