lip singing

I saw this movie last week for the first time and it was all right but the first one will always be my favorite. The main thing I didn't like about Eddie Lives was the fact that when he sang in this you could tell he was lip singing. In the first one, it was done so well that I thought it was actually him singing.

In the first film I thought he did a bad job of lip-syncing when doing "on The Dark Side". As they say, he over-sold the song at points. (Put more passion into
the miming than the singer did in singing.) I think it hurt his career.

I haven't seen the sequel in years, but do recall it inspired me to rent, then buy the original.

when i saw this movie for the first time, i was like 9...I thought these guys were AMAZING, the way they could sing like that, so well. I couldn't understand why you never heard them on the radio (like I said, I was 9). Then a few years later I heard "On the Dark Side" on the radio and I said "HEY THAT'S THE GUY FROM EDDIE AND THE CRUISERS!" That's when I learned it was actually a band named John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band...lol

I recently watched this movie for the first time in ages (I bought it about seven years ago, and just watched it now) and I can see how godawful the lip syncing is. Also the faking of playing the instruments is really bad too. Someone needs to explain to people that to fake it well, you have to move the hand that's holding the neck!!! lol

Other than that, the movie is still enjoyable. I love the songs, I like the dance scene and I like the festival scene at the end. I can't wait till May 10th and it's out on DVD (here in Canada, anyway)

If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great.

Oh please, the lip-synching isn't that bad. No worse than New Kids on The Block or Milli Vanilli. I think Michael Pare did an excellent job of singing and yes, when he was singing in the club near the beginning of this movie, his lip-synching was off...but BIG DEAL!

In the special features on greatest american hero season 1. He says during one of the shows where the kids are in a band he sits out because he couldn't do it. since he wasn't in that show very much he did a film called eddie & the cruisers. he thought it was funny.

I was 10 when I first saw the film. Michael did a great job with his lip sync It actually seems like he is really singing it. I just purchased the sequal just found out that there was one after 15 years!!.. Loved it!
