DVD now available.

Thought anyone looking in might be interested in knowing that this is now available on DVD. I just purchased a copy of it yesterday and watched it last night. It was released by Alliance Atlantis - I purchased it in Canada so I don't know if it's available in the US. Unfortunately, it is a basic, stripped-down, full screen DVD in 2 channel stereo only. It has both English and French language tracks, as well as English subtitles. The picture quality is only minimally better than my VHS copy, and the picture is a bit jumpy during the credits and such - but at least it won't wear out like my VHS copy has.

By the way, it was very inexpensive - only $7.69 CDN at a local electronics store. If you can't get it in the US, I see it's available through the chapters-indigo website for $8.99 CDN.

Yeah I was in CD Plus last week just looking through some DVD's while waiting for the bus and I saw Eddie and the Cruisers II, I was in complete shock and it was in their 2 for $16 pile so I got it right away, I have been looking for it since the first time I saw it like 4 years ago. Now I have it so I'm going to go watch it for the second time in 3 days :D EDDIE LIVES!!!!

How can a movie have 467 votes with over 100 of the votes being a perfect 10....still gather just a 4.9 rating?

I think either IMDB has some problems with how it tallies votes, or there are some goofballs out there that just go around voting 1s, 2s, and 3s on great movies like this. This movie was totally 80s and just for that reason, it belongs to be on every 80s fan DVD shelf (and any pure rock music fan also).

Rock Solid rules! Eddie rules (and he lives too)!!!!

WELL I'M WATCHING IT ON THE ENCORE-DRAMA CHANNEL RIGHT NOW,AND IT DOESN'T START OFF WITH THE SCOTTI-BROS. LOGO,MGM'S FAMOUSE TIGER ROAR COMES FIRST,THEN THE SCOTTI BROS.SO THAT'S GOOD NEWS BECAUSE MGM-UA OWNS IT NOW,SO EXPECT A DVD SOON.IF ANYONE IS FAMILIAR WITH MGM-UA,THEN YOU KNOW THEY BOUGHT ALL THE ORION PICTURES,CANNON PICTURES,,AVCO-EMBASSY PICTURES,GLADDEN ENTERTAINMENT,EPIC PRODUCTIONS,TRIUMPH RELEASING CORPORATION,TRANS WORLD ENTERTAINMENT,HEMDALE PICTURE CORPORATION,AND VESTRON VIDEO.HOPEFULLY IT COMES OUT REALLY SOON.I THINK THAT BOTH OF THESE FILMS SHOULD COME OUT AS SPECIAL EDITIONS,WITH COMMENTARY,DELETED SCENES,AND DOCUMENTARIES.

This movie rocks! I picked up this same DVD. Although it wasn't given the royal widescreen transfer treatment, atleast it looks and sounds better than your average VHS-to-DVD transfer.
This is a great movie with a great story. So thrilled to finally have this on DVD.
