Defective disc???

I have a stupid question but this really bothering me. There are two scenes on my dvd where I see circular markings, called artifacts on the screen. The first is when Eddie is fighting with Rick as he is leaving the roller rink. Eddie shoves him up against the wall and I see a blue circular mark on the right side of the screen. The second time it happens is when Eddie is apologizing to Diane for being jealous. There is another white circular mark on the right hand side of the screen. Does anyone else have these artifacts on there transfer or did I just get a defective disc?

...the dvd copy I checked out from a public library has the same exact artifacts on the screen in the same scenes you described....

Try clicking on them - you might have found what they call an Easter Egg, which is bonus footage!

I checked this site - http://www.eeggs.com/ didn't find anything, but that doesn't mean that there isn't!

I think what you're referring to are the timing marks. Back when they had real people operating movie projectors, movie had to be broken down into several reels. At the end of each reel was a circular "defect" that showed up for several seconds to alert the projectionist to start the next reel.

They are call "Cueing dots or Change Over dots" and there are two sets of them on films the first is to alert the projectionist that the change over is in 3-5 seconds and the second set is where the changeover to the next reel takes place, if the projectionist is doing his job well you dont see the second set...coming from a former projectionist
