Trip To Bountiful, made 4 years earlier, is another beautifully made movie. I highly recommend it.

The Verdict (1982) and The Dresser (1984) -- not the same theme but meticulously made, extremely well acted and "slow" moving movies.

The Verdict is a fabulous film! It's also produced by Richard D. Zanuck who won the Oscar for Driving Miss Daisy - also look for Bruce Willis as an extra during the final courtroom scene.
