Quick question...
I was just thinking that maybe the reason why this movie didn't do as well at the theater as it should have and really doesn't have a large following on video as well could possibly be because of the "Coreys" being in it and was wondering if anyone else felt the same?
I mean think about it....the story, although confusing and hard to follow sometimes, is really a fresh and interesting new spin on the whole Freaky Friday/Vice Versa/Like Father Like Son type of story. The character interaction in the movie seems very genuine and realistic, the cast...including the Coreys...is top notch and all do servicable to excellent jobs in thier roles and all the subplots are pretty interesting as well as to keep the story rolling and keep the watchers interested. The subplots being....Bobby's relationship with his parents and Lainey's relationship with her mother and with Joel. The whole Joel storyline is pretty cool. the character of Joel is very interesting. The rivalry between Joel's crew and Dumas' crew. All that stuff.
So anyway, I just feel that at this point people consider the Corey's and anything associated with them just "'80s cheese" and pass it by which would be a real shame if that is the case because this really is a pretty darn good movie. Excellent sountrack as well....one of my favorites.
