A Good remake candidate

I know people hates remakes so do I, but this film could be a perfect candidate for the argument "remake movies that were bad or did not work." This one is more of a near hit, It did not quite work. The script could be funnier, but its main problem was the lead. There's a reason Corbin Bernsen is stuck on TV, it's because he's just not compelling to watch. However it will be difficult to replace Fred Gwynn who was pitch perfect.

It worked for me. I just orderd the Bluray. And will never see a remake. I love movies like this from the late 80s. One of my favorite periods. There are so many great lighthearted films that I find enjoyable from that era. This one, The Burbs, Throw Mama From the Train, Weekend at Bernies, Midnight Run, Gross Anotomy, Like Father Like Son, etc.

..except Corbin Bernsen isn't the lead. If this had a lead I'd say it was Gwynn, but this is really a total ensemble movie.

I suspect the problem is that you have too many paperclips up your nose
