Why is this rated so low?

I liked this movie a lot, it was enjoyable from start to finish. Why does it have a 5.6 rating? Seems very harsh for what I would consider an entertaining movie.
Under normal circumstances I would have voted this movie a 7, but I voted it an 8 to compensate for the narcissistic downvoters.

Totally agree, I've had the DVD for a few years (and was lucky enough to see it in the theater back in '89). I just picked up the Blu Ray, looks and sounds pretty good. It's a Mill Creek release, so I wasn't expecting much. But it is a solid release.

I think it's a pretty entertaining caper comedy that mainly succeeds due to the efforts of a first rate cast. I gave it an eight.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

it's a pretty okay, almost forgettable movie up until about the half-way mark,
once the 3 of them start robbing stores to raise money to bail out the 4th is when it starts getting really funny and exciting,
i think most people would have given up before that point

I think the movie is very character driven, so the action part is less than people anticipate, and action fans feel it's a slow movie b/c of this (I think 'The Mechanic' gets a bad rap from some people b/c expect it to b non stop Bronson action when it's actually very character oriented).

I like the characters, so it doesn't bother me, but I can see their point. This movie doesnt move along like 'Midnight Run', which was released about 9 months before this one.
