I recently saw the movie Ultraviolet (1992). It's a very similar movie that follows a plot almost exactly like Dead Calm, only it takes place in the desert rather than the ocean. Here's the link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105681/?ref_=nv_sr_3
shareGood catch, Watcher. I just saw it as well. There is another one called Wild Cactus which came out a year later in '93 that also takes in the desert and has similar themes to Dead Calm. And yet another film released in that same year on tv called Adrift. This is a testament to the greatness of Dead Calm that it resulted in copycat films. Nevertheless, Dead Calm is one of the greatest movies of all time which never fails to fascinate and excite me.
