Jack Lemmon lost the Oscar to Tom Crouise? HA-HA!

That shows you that you can't take these award shows or some peoples opinions seriously.
Jack Lemmon, the greatest dramatic and comedic actor of all time, lost to Tom Crouise?
Also, keep in mind, that Alfred Hitchcock, never won an oscar during his entire career.
That's why i can't take these award shows seriously.. and i think its ugly to compete like that. i think it was hip by George C Scott not to accept the oscar he won for "Patton" for that reason.

sometimes i wonder, if the whole world is against me,
nothing but misfortune, everywhere i see,
i've stopped trying, what's the use,
why keep fighting, when all i do is lose,
i can't get anyone to join my crew, i don't even have a troop of 2,
what's the point in keeping on fighting, when its obvoious the whole world is against you.
nobody cares,
if i died, nobody would shed a tear,
i'm the biggest failure this world has ever seen,
and it seems like the whole world only wants to treat me dirty and mean.
i should be thrown at a junkyard, surrounded by broken trash and empty cans of beer,
but some junkyard worker would probrably just be annoyed with me being there,
everything i touch, turns bad,
no feelings i get, are satisfying or glad,
why can't i ever get a break,
why do i only recieve dissapointment and hate,
i fall asleep in pain,
and wake up feeling the same way again,
my world has fallen aparty,
i can't find a new start,
call it bad luck, my own fault, but i want the truth out for you to see,
but what does it matter, when everyone, and the whole wide world, is against me.
it sounds strange, i know, but i mean it quite seriously,
the truth is, that somehow, someway, the whole world seems to be against me.
call it bad luck, my own fault, whatever you may please,
but i know someway somehow, the whole entire world, is against me.

You mean he lost the Golden Globe, right? He was not nominated for an Oscar...

Tom Cruise has never won an Oscar, so I'm trying to figure out how you can say he lost the Oscar to cruise...Cruise was nominated this year for BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY but he lost the Oscar Daniel Day Lewis for MY LEFT FOOT.

reply

Cruise never won an Oscar that year and Lemmon never got nominated!

Lemmon had enough Oscars anywhere!

Its that man again!!

Cruise hasn't had too many roles in which to stretch his wings, however, his portrayal of Ron Kovic was spot on. Watch Kovic in documentary footage and it's amazing how closely Cruise nailed it.

That said, Lemon is always very good.

I agree and the op obliviously got mixed up because DDL won

Cruise gave the performance of his career and was better than Lemon comparing those two movies. I think Jack was a better overall actor but that year and movie cruise wins. Tom had bad luck because he would've won for born on the 4th of July just about any other year but he sadly got DDL like so many other actors.
