When I saw this movie on HBO back in the early 90's I could never figure out who the guy shooting the father with an arrow was? Was it supposed to be the killer making rounds from the school to the woods? Does anybody know the answer?

They try to make you think it was Dwight. Brian was crazy and pissed at the father for first identifying him as a murderer and in his eyes is the reason he was locked up. So the person stalking the father was Brian though they never reveal it so I guess it could be Dwight trying to get some alone time with Paula.
I am the reason Hollywood keeps churning out crappy movies with no development or plot.
well, no *beep* it was pretty obvious. I mean, that Brian was the killer, that is.

The father even says something about the fact Brians sentence was too light.
He didn't know about the killings, so obviously it was Brian who shot him with that arrow.
