Gary's accent

I respectfully disagree. In "State of Grace" he sounds just like a New Yorker...

His accent was perfect, a little Boston Irish.

I'm happiest...in the saddle.

It was really good -- most of the time. But he slipped up big when he slipped up. Particularly when he was acting distressed, his things like "I don't KNOW!" or "we don't have TIME" where the diphthong must have really given him trouble when he has to shout it, rather than whisper it.

As another poster said, in "State of Grace" it was great, and it was. He's a paragon of accents, but this is not a great example.

You are right, I love Gary. But he's young in this and still new but you can see the greatness coming later. But his accent was all over the place.

I agree, totally, in this film it was strange, and I felt like other actors had bizarre accents, too.

He was 100% wrong for this part; Too young, too slight, too neurotic, looked as if he had not only never worn a suit before but hadn't even tried on the suit he had in the opening court scene. By the end, he seemed more normal, but on the whole, awful for this role. He was 29 and looked 20.

Think that through; In the history of criminal justice, has their even been a high priced, in demand criminal defense attorney with years of prior work and reputation as a prosecutor, who looked 20?

He is a great actor, but was unfortuanatley miscast in this role

his accents have since improved as well

It just wouldn't be the IMDB if someone wasn't pointlessly criticizing an accent.
