Top Ten Most Twisted Films Ever

Hey. So, I adore films that just make me squirm or really leave me with a sense of disturbance. You know, those awesome flicks that just mess you up in the head. I'm trying not to double up, although several directors on this list have more than one messed up film. What's your top ten? If you have more than 10 favorites, put those down too, I definitely have more than ten. I felt compelled to make out a list. In no particular order:
The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover
Taxi Driver
Happiness
The Brood
A Clockwork Orange
Nil By Mouth
Salo
Eraserhead
Ichi the Killer
Night of the Living Dead(Original 1968 version! try and tell me that scene where the little girl kills her mother with the garden spade isn't freaky!)
Pink Flamingoes
The Piano Teacher
Blue Velvet
Henry: Portrait of A Serial Killer
Julien Donkey Boy
Battle Royale
The Wicker Man
Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS
The War Zone
Begotten
American History X
Kids
Irreversible
Night and Fog
Sick

I could go on, but let me know. And by the way, I know NOLD is an old Romero flick, but try and tell me that scene where the little girl kills her mother with the garden spade isn't freaky! Good luck.
Hope to hear from you soon and hear about all these crazy sicko movies I've been missing!

Possession (1981 w/Isabelle Adjani)

Also out of print, and heavily edited for it's American Release. It was briefly on the VIDEO NASTY list. It did win Isabelle Adjani Best Actress at Canne.
Though, she did try and kill herself after watching the film.

Very good, very horrific. Imagine a more psychological THE BROOD...but on acid.
Some say it is drama, others horror. Personally, my favorite.

A truly disturbing, not to mention great film that I rarely see getting any attention is In a Glass Cage. It ranks up there with all the hardest-to-watch films, as well as being an excellent work of art. Though, I suppose for something to be truly disturbing it would have to be successful on an artistic level in at least some capacity. Anyway, check it out: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090197/

One of the most disturbing films I've ever seen: Mysterious Skin. If you decide to watch it, make sure you check what it's about - PLEASE make sure you do that. Then view at your own risk.
It's a well-made film, whose topic I'll agree needs addressing just like anything else, and just as brutally as it does, but part of me REALLY didn't want to know.

Sublime - is very, very disturbing

I consider it unfair to enter a battle of wits when my opponent is so inadequately armed.

I also like the twisted and disturbing movies, one of them being Bad Boy Bubby. I've hardly ever heard it being mentioned, it's an Australian movie and has a weird mix of disturbing moments and black humour, it really has some hilarious moments and some others when you just want to close your eyes and skip a few scenes!

One of the movies that most disturbed me was "Dead Ringers" with Jeremy Irons, who was brilliant in the dual roles of the twin gynecologists.I had incredibly unsettling dreams for weeks after first seeing it. I can still barely sit through it without wanting to cover my eyes and ears for most of it.
