happy ending?

The film did end on a positive note with Philippe finally accepting himself. However, the scene where Philippe and old man interact, the dialogue and all the people are shown so lonely that it makes Philippe's situation really sad.

Personally, I would have preferred an ending like the french film "Just a Question Of Love". It was more encouraging in the sense that despite the numerous difficulties in coming out of the closet, atleast you find a loving partner!
