yeah kinda true.
and although im a big jackie chan fan, i think collision course is the way better movie

Dunno alot of these buddy cop movies are formulaic they just have 2 mismatched characters who has to save the town,foreign princess,etc,etc.

And now Chan's re-doing another Morita role in the Karate Kid remake. He's probably just itching for Hollywood to make a Happy Days movie.

It's not just Rush Hour. The mismatched cop partners is and has been a very common plot device in various movies.
