Crush on Ryan O'Neal?

Is that totally weird?

reply

Hell no. lol

"Sweet? I am not sweet! I am dark and mysterious and pissed off!"

reply

Ryan was pretty hot in this film. I loved Philip all along, better than Alex.

"This is war, Peacock!"

reply

Now THAT'S weird!

I first fell in love with Ryan O"Neal when I saw LOVE STORY...I always thought he was really hot. My lust was confirmed in WHAT'S UP,DOC? and I was surprised how good he still looked in this film,almost20 years later...sadly, after this film, Ryan pretty much let himself go...have you seen him lately? It's very sad.

reply

Sadly, after this film, Ryan pretty much let himself go.

He REALLY let himself go . . . that's why you haven't seen him in 20 years. He was the young George Clooney of his day. And don't forget all his personal problems: His son, his daughter, Farrah, Johnny Walker, etc.

reply

not at all. what would be weird is a crush on cybill. i like o'neal but doesn't he have a clench jawed smile?

reply

He is exceptionally attractive in "What's Up Doc?".
I'd recommend seeing it (if only for that reason) if you haven't already.

"Ah,sweet storyteller. What will it take to slay the dragon..."-Steven James

reply

If everyone liked him in "What's up Doc?" with Barbra Streisand they should also see him in their other pairing "The Main Event" for he looks great in that movie too.

reply

I had a crush on him the first time I saw this movie (when it was released in vhs) and I still have it after watching it last week after so many years. In addition his character is so cute!

reply

I also thought he was very attractive in his hey day. Better than a boy next door, but oh so sweet. His off screen personality was different, though. I did like his acting in this film. Great casting.

reply

You do know he's a major jerk, don't you?

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

reply

Yeah, O'Neal had a rep for being a d*** in real life, but he was an excellent leading man in old-school styled comedies (PAPER MOON, WHAT'S UP, DOC? NICKELODEON,and IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES,for example---all good and funny flicks,BTW. ) He was a perfect and natural fit for the genre (romantic comedies) and was still really good in this one (CHANCES ARE) real funny and charming with the good looks to match. Liked this film,too---I also remember that the ballad at the end was a big hit on the charts back then. The film itself dosen't seem to have been a major hit, but apparently it made its budget back, and it was a trip to see an incredibly young Robert Downey hitting his comedy stride (he still looks remarkably good today, and I liked him in the SHERLOCK HOLMES flicks, too.)

reply

Yes, when RDJ is right next to him. I mean, come on!

reply

He was gorgeous back then, maybe those were the last years he was handsome. he didn't age well but when he was young he was so good looking!

reply

Hell, no. It would be weird if you didn't have the crush. One of the most gorgeous men on film. And, in his prime, he had a great amount of charm and talent.

"Victor, what are we going to do to stop this fiendish tit?"
