Sure was.The dialogue was a bit on the nose,but that wasn't his fault.He did the best he could with the speech.

I love his acting when he's drunk at the bar revealing his guilt,and I was really impressed in the scene in the hut where he unties her,tries to feed her,and get her away.

Great stuff.

Loved that scene where he's drunk at the bar, that's one of my favorite scenes from him in the film. Agreed, great stuff. 

I dont think this movie which even SEan Penn starred, MJF is the best acting in this movie. talking about best acting, frighteners is much more than this one.

this one, MJF does not show up much.

this one has rape scene, serious boredom and one thing, dont forget that MJF is not the main actor, the main is sean penn.

MJF is not bad, but his show time in this movie is still very short time. he should show up more time/longer time. too short time ....

he shows too short time, there are many scenes/ times MJF not show up.

I think Frighteners is MJF best film, exactly & really , rather better than this one.

I love The Frighteners.I like alot of Fox's films.If you love The Frighteners and not this go to The Frighteners board and praise it.Simple.

If you think this film has serious boredom fair enough,but you obviously haven't even watched the film properly if you think Penn is the main actor in it and Fox hardly shows up.

They both share the same amount of screen time from the beginning,and then after the girl is killed,Fox dominates the rest of the film which is about 35 minutes,and Penn is hardly seen.

If you're going to trash a film get your facts right first.

who said that MJF fans must say this is not a rubbish movie?

MJF fans does not have to like every movie MJF works. mars attack and blue in the face is rubbish. but this one, MJF is only a weak soldier than Sean Penn

I think that it's not troll. troll is those who really never watched movie but just write like they watched.

this movie is really quite boring.

I want to tell you that w1cht3l may really have watched the movie, especially the scene which (near ending) when his comrade, Chucky-name person , wants to be with MJF (Erikkson) and Erikkson's friend to escape, Erikkson speaks that Chucky is too dumb, and not let Chucky follow them, and the next explosion, Chucky was dead. then MJF spoke "we have to beware of every step we made, every step is precious"

but you should understand that , being a fan of Michael J Fox, and movie is interesting or boring are 2 different issues...

being a MJF fan can also feel the movie as boring,

this is my answer. you can't force us to change view that a boring movie can be interesting, even when I am a MJF supporter myself, yes this movie is boring in most parts, I only found scenes which had MJF were great, other parts are boring...

I think she may had really watched that movie. because this movie is really boring.

I had watched this movie. it's not trolling.

If I had not watched this movie I would not write in MJF forums or get high marks in the MJF quiz. think about it. yes I watch this movie already.

I got the VCD clip of this movie. too. I am MJF fan, I keep watching his movie.

but this movie is really not funny and even boring.

I said if you don't like a film fair enough,but don't come on this board and say stupid things like Michael J.Fox is hardly in the film and Penn appears in more scenes.

If you think Penn is the main actor in it,you obviously didn't pay attention.

And if you don't like it why keep sending the same messages to get your point across as if you're trying to get people to agree with you.

That's why I called it trolling.

If you think it's boring and grim that's up to you,everyone's entitled to their opinion,but you only need to say it once.And like I said before,Fox's name appears first in the credits of the film and he has the most screen time.Penn virtually disapears from the film in the third act.

Can't you tell the difference between the lead actor in a film and a supporting actor?.

I think with Casualties of War, the viewer needs to posess a certain level of maturity to really understand and appreciate the value of the complex story it is trying to portray. This is a sophisticated thought-provoking and emotionally stirring film. I mean, this "Film" is not like any other of Fox's "movies" - This is not a comedy, the purpose of this Film is to not necessarily to entertain, but to rather tap into your inner emotions. It illustrates the consequences, risks, and costs of doing the right versus the wrong thing. It forces you to question yourself what you would do in Erikkson's situation. It's meant to get you angry, to make you feel sick, and gets you longing for justice.

When I experienced this film for the first time, I was at the edge of my seat pretty much the entire time. Michael J. Fox's performance is simply astounding. I wish he received more recognition and proclaim for this role. Although this film is definitely not my favourite of Fox's, I truly believe hands-down that this is his most compelling of performances to date.

Fox definitely has more screen-time than Penn. Let us not forget that this story is basically told through the eyes of Erikkson. This is absolutely essential and Brian De Palma intended it that way, otherwise the audience would have failed to sympathize with the character.

I did watch this movie, I remember all scenes too. not only you, col547.

I paid attention, yes Sean Penn is the main actor, MJF is #2, look how much time they appear.

your disc Fox name shows up the first, but to me, Sean Penn before Fox. I am sure.

that is why you think Fox is first person in movie, but the main actor is really Sean Penn. I am MJF fans too

I watch MJF movies too. I watch EVERY movie he is in. except Blue in the face, american president, Mars Attacks which he shows very short time.

are you telling me to like Mars Attack (1996), American President (1995) and blue in the face(95) which he only show 5 mins or even less just because I am a true fan of MJF?

NO. I only want MJF show in long time in a movie his name was in
(NOT like, American President, Blue in the face, mars attacks)

Because I am true fan of him I buy this movie, but when I watch this movie, He is handsome, great, but not as important as sean penn in the movie. and movie is dead boring. that is it. does not mean I dont watch that movie

how can any MJF fan not watch Casualties of War. stop bashing or trolling that people must not write on board if they think movie is boring.

This movie demonstrates why MJF's movie career eventually petered out (by ~1993).

He (MJF) was cast in this movie based on the box office success of Back to the Future and The Secret of My Success -- both lighter, comedic movies -- but next to Sean Penn, his deficiencies as an actor are painfully evident. There's just no power behind his line readings, no real emotional truth trying to get to the surface.

Probably a terrific guy and good family man by all accounts, but . . . . sorry, he doesn't belong in this league of films.

lol @ this movie being the reason MJF´s career petered out. He was actually good in this movie but this movie had nothing to do with MJF´s film career dying.
